Project: Rebelution Ignite

The book definitely got a hold of me. I've been thinking so much on what could be done to make something worthwhile and invite the youth to join in. I already sent the first email challenging one of our youth to think of something we can start as a project.

I call this act as Project: Rebelution Ignite, a driving force to make the youth to think of ways that we can have a rebelution attidude especially in becoming witnesses for Christ.

Rebelution is the new wave of young believers whose hearts and minds are completely to set aside low expectations and do hard things for God. It's overpowering the mindset given by a culture that sees the youth as nowhere to succeed in being responsible youth that can stand anything that the older generation can give them as tasks.

So, I'm excited how our youth will grab this challenge and bring impact to their lives, changing not just their mindsets but the way they do things as well. Let's pray this will work out rightly!

Do Hard Things - Harris Brothers

I’m trying to read a good book for the week, and it’s entitled ” Do Hard Things”. An interesting book about a twins desire to make change and bring impact to this next generation of leaders.

The book particularly rebels against the set mindset of the youth today about low expectations.
The Authors

ALEX AND BRETT HARRIS founded TheRebelution.com in August 2005 and today, at age 20, are
among the most widely read authors, speakers, and writers for Christian teens. The twins serve as the main speakers for the annual The Rebelution Tour conferences, and have been featured nationally on MSNBC, CNN, NPR, and The New York Times, as well as in publications like WORLD, Breakaway, and Ignite Your Faith. Their first book, Do Hard Things: A Teenage Rebellion Against Low Expectations, has remained a top Christian youth title since its release in April 2008.

Sons of homeschool pioneers Gregg and Sono Harris and younger brothers of best-selling author Joshua Harris (I Kissed Dating Goodbye), Alex and Brett have a passion for God and for their generation. Personal interests include politics, filmmaking, music, basketball, and soccer.
Alex and Brett are currently sophomores at Patrick Henry College in Virginia. But when they’re not in school or doing conferences, Alex and Brett live with their parents and three younger siblings near Portland, Oregon, where they attend Household of Faith Community Church.

I’m still at the first few pages of the book and it’s interesting that the authors are aged 20 (or less). More to that, it’s a good map for those who wants to help change the world.

So, what’s my take in buying the book?

The book offers inspiration and challenge to a generation who have lost confidence in themselves. It is a unique wake up call to youth leaders like me of the importance of having the drive and the fire to challenge the youth to be more proactive and productive.

Whatever this book can share to me will definitely be a good catch to share to our youth group and I’m excited to how I’ll respond to this challenge.

Paradigm Shift

Paradigm Shift is a state wherein you go for a 180 degrees turn to something. That's what I'm after for this blog for 2010. The bog started as a place where I can share my thoughts and experiences as a Christian.

For 2010, this blogsite will be more focused on helping out my generation tap into their full potential for God's glory. I'll be sharing articles from the great and not so great authors of today, placing in some tidbits about life, challenges and about peer pressure.
